This Week @MidwayTrades
This is a series where I record my weekly trade review. I walk through each trade and adjustment of the week and explain why I did it, where it worked, and where I screwed up. You see it all: the good, the bad, and the ugly. It’s an opportunity to watch me as I learn from my own live trading. As with my other series, always reach out with questions or comments.
Week Ending April 25, 2025: Still Trying To Trade SPX
So while I'm primarily sitting on some dull VIX trades, I am still trying to learn by wresting with the alligator that is SPX. Some come along and watch...let my pain be your educational gain.

Week Ending April 18, 2025: Managing What I Have
It was a relatively quiet week and I had 3 trades on so I didn't do any new trades this week, rather I just managed what I had. The VIX trades are pretty much no-touch, but I did have to adjust the SPX trade from last week.

Week Ending April 11, 2025: A Rookie Mistake
I didn't close anything this week but I did try to put on an SPX Iron Butterfly....and I botched the entry with a couple of bad mouse clicks. So, let's just say, it's a bit messy. But this series is for learning, so let's learn

Week Ending April 4, 2025: Tariff Volatility
Some market, eh? Well, I did have one trade get caught although it was entirely the way I traded it that caused the loss. I had another trade that made quick money on the big drop and I put on 2 VIX trades as well. There are things to trade when the market goes nuts...take a look and see.

Week Ending March 28, 2025: Butterflies On The Downside
We ended March by going up, then dropping hard. In these high IV environments I really like butterflies and this week I'll show you why. They can generate some quick money on the downside while still being non-directional. I also wrap up a challenging March where I still managed to make a small profit.

Week Ending March 21, 2025: Navigating an FOMC Meeting
This is an unusual week because I didn't put anything on or take anything off, rather I worked 3 different trades through an FOMC Meeting. A lot of times, I'm out of the market over these, but this week I was very much in and I talk about why I was willing to do so.

Week Ending March 14, 2025: Profiting From High Volatility
We had a crazy market week with a CPI in the middle, budget fights in the US but I won the week. There are trades that I don't do all the time but can do well in these high IV market drops so this is a week where I can showcase one. You'll be able to see one work really quickly as well as how to react when it goes the other way. Lots of good stuff in this one.

Week Ending March 7, 2025: This Is What High Volatility Is Like
So we have some real volatility which we haven't seen in a while so in this episode you'll see how I'm navigating some big moves and still managing to eek out some profits. It's important as a trader to be able to trade different types of markets so this has some good lessons for me and, hopefully, for you as well.

Weeks Ending February 21 & 28: Some Improvement
Due to some work travel I wasn't able to do a review video last week so I'm combining the last 2 weeks here and it worked out well. I have one trade where I was patient and worked it and made a good profit and another that failed fast. Very good lessons here. Take a look and let me know what you think

Week Ending February 14, 2025: More Patience, More Profits
CPI and JPow talking moved the market around a bit but, with another lesson in patience, I was able to make a decent profit this week. Take a look and let me know what you think.

Week Ending February 7, 2025: Lessons In Patience
In this review, watch how I navigate the crazy DeepSeek moves. This week had multiple lessons in patience which is important when trading. I didn't do everything correctly in hindsight, but I did survive and profit trading range-bound in a crazy move. Take a look and let me know what you think

Week Ending January 31, 2025: A Rough Start
As we finish the first month of 2025, I can't say it was successful in terms of profit, but what I did do correctly is take proper losses. That may sound strange, but what makes or breaks any trader is the kind of losses one takes. And that's what this week is about. Take a look and tell me what you think

Week Ending January 24, 2025: Crazy IV In The Calls
I found an interesting phenomenon that I hadn't noticed before that was making a trade really difficult. The IV in the SPX calls recently have been really skewed. So I work through that trade and then put on a new one in the puts to show the difference. Good lessons here.

Week Ending January 17, 2025: Here We Go Again?
So the messy market continues this year and I took off one trade for a loss but put on a decent new one. I talk about why I took it off and the risk management rules that I learned last year. Good stuff here as I try to do better than last year.

Week Ending January 10, 2025: New Year, New Start
We start the new year heading down so I only did one trade this week which required adjusting. I'm easing into the new year until we find some footing. The market isn't really sure what it wants to do yet. But the year is young.
